Alice Springs is home to the headquarters of the new MacDonnell Shire Council, which became operational on 1 July 2008. MacDonnell Shire has a land area of approximately 268,887km² and Council has 13 Service Delivery Centres located in the communities of Areyonga, Wallace Rockhole, Haasts Bluff (Ikuntji), Amoonguna, Imanpa, Finke (Aputula), Docker River (Kaltukatjara), Santa Teresa (Ltyentye Apurte), Hermannsburg (Ntaria), Titjikala, Papunya, Mount Liebig (Watiyawanu) and Kintore (Walungurru). MacDonnell Shire Council offers employees attractive conditions including 6 weeks annual leave plus superannuation, generous personal, bereavement and cultural leave. Leave loading, study leave and relocation expenses may also be available.

Council is now seeking applications for the following positions:

SHIRE SERVICES MANAGER : Salary Level 6-8 $57,614 - $73,837 pa: Responsibilities include monitoring, directing and overseeing the delivery of core, agency and commercial services within an indigenous community. There are several positions available in indigenous communities across MacDonnell Shire.

This position includes private use of a motor vehicle within the Northern Territory .
