New CEO Appointment
A member of a long time Alice Springs family has been appointed as the new CEO of the MacDonnell Shire Council.
Diane Hood, whose family has lived in Australia for 40 years has been advised that she is the successful applicant.
She has been acting in the role for the past four months.
Ms Hood, who attended Ross Park Primary School and Alice Springs High School has a background of working in large corporations, including 14 years with IBM. Before returning to Alice Springs, she worked on a carbon project with the Victorian State Government.
Ms Hood's priorities as the new CEO of MacDonnell Shire are:
- To focus on communities with local action plans
- Encourage local employment for community members by providing new opportunities and training
- Improve staff morale
- Make the Shire a desirable place to work
- Work cooperatively with all stakeholders of the MacDonnell Shire Council
Diane Hood advised her staff saying, "I have just found out that I have been appointed as CEO to the Shire. I wanted to let you all know and to say I'm very pleased and humbled and look forward to working with you all into the future!"
