Finke being judged against the nation’s best

When Finke was named the 2017 Territory Tidy Town last year it became the territory finalist in the national Tidy Town competition. Judging against six categories for the national title will take place in Finke this Friday 9 March.

National Tidy Town judge Gail Langley will visit the small remote Aboriginal community to assess its effort in the categories of: Waste Management and Resource Recovery; Environmental Sustainability; Environmental Education; Culture and Heritage; Community Action and Wellbeing; and Litter Prevention.

The national Tidy Town awards ceremony will be hosted by Australia’s reining Tidy Town, Barmera, in South Australia from 5 to 7 April 2018.
